Northanger Abbey
& Persuasion

November 5th - 14th 2026 at The Ridge, Raleigh

Two new plays in repertory, adapted from Jane Austen’s first & last novels

Adapted & directed by Emma Szuba

General Admission - $25 / Students, Seniors & Artists - $20

These new stage adaptations pair Jane Austen’s first and last completed novels - just as they were originally published 6 months after the famed authoress’s death.

In Northanger Abbey, a naive young woman learns that real life doesn’t always follow the plots of novels; in Persuasion, a woman who has given up on her happily ever after discovers that with the right twists of fate and loyalty to oneself, some fairy tales actually can come true.

Brought to life with an intimate ensemble in repertory, this version of Jane Austen’s classics is a joyous celebration of womanhood and the power of storytelling.

Northanger Abbey and Persuasion are performed in repertory by a single cast. Tickets can be purchased to individual performances of each play ($25 General Admission), or to both plays with a Jane Austen Pass ($40). Each play runs approximately 2 hours, including a 15 minute intermission.

Both shows are performed on Saturdays (November 7th & 14th). Audiences are invited to join us for a free Tea Party & Regency Dance Lesson in between shows. Costumes are encouraged!
